Unwelcome alarm

This morning at 5AM ish - I was jolted awake by a loud crash. The mirror on the back of our bathroom door fell to the tile just after Josh had walked into the bathroom and it busted into a bajillion little pieces. It was so startling. I am so thankful that Josh didn't get badly cut. It could have been bad. I didnt like having to clean it all up and be aware of every place I was stepping at such an early hour. (Im not a morning person and my wits aren't quite about me just yet at 5)

Today Ana and I had a day together and we had a very nice time. We are looking forward to February and all that it will hold. I may get to see my niece in the near future which I am crossing my fingers that it happens. We will have to wait and see.

My heart is full!!!

Tonight I go to bed so refreshed and with a full heart! We had an amazing time helping lead Worship at the Red Culture Conference. Thanks to Pastor TJ Cristobal for inviting Jeff Doll, and I to join with Him, and a group of others. I turned to tell Jeff thanks for all of his hard work after the evening was over and he said - "That, was Amazing!" - my sentiments exactly. God's power was so real, and the energy from the crowd was unbelievable - 270 youth, college, & childrens workers singing with all their hearts, it was an amazing time.
Steph (Jeff's wife) had her camera and she took a few shots of us during practice, these she shot with my little camera. Thanks to all who played and helped out - it was a great time in the Lord!

Re-think Food

Every year when the Daniel Diet rolls around I am challenged to rethink the foods I eat and the options that are available to us! It takes some creative thinking but today our food was delicious and neither meal was soup or salad! (imagine that!)

My Scripture for the month!

I found this today while reading and absolutely loved it. It goes with my theme for January.
Psalms 22:30-31
Our Children will also serve him. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord. His righteous acts will be told to those not yet born. They will hear about everything he has done!

Matchy Matchy

Ana couldn't have been more proud to be wearing the same scarf as Christy, and Alicia at our Life Group Christmas party.

Happy New Year!

Today we slept in, and I awoke only two days after starting an herb treatment my Dad told me about and I feel soooo much better. I went down stairs with maybe too much gusto, as Josh told me to calm down - it would all get cleaned up before the end of the day!
We cleaned downstairs today - and have much more to do tomorrow. Josh will be out of town tomorrow, but he helped me get started tonight anyway. That is my LOVE LANGUAGE big time - organize a cabinet and you skipped buying flowers for a good month and a half - surely up to Valentines that will hold him over! HA!

We began the day with a delicious meal that we prepped last night. Josh again did the hard part, I wasn't feeling so well last night still yet. But our delicious meal consisted of Chicken & Dressing, Sweet Potatoes, fried Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Baked Beans, Deviled Eggs, Cranberry Raw, Cranberry Sauce and Last but not least Lisa Syke's Recipe for Homemade Rolls! It was delicious.
After the nice Dinner, we all played a game of Sorry. Then Josh and Colin watched MMA fights and Ana did some art work and I began My January 09 Calendar. Its going to be allot of text - and not so many pictures probably. Words that are themes for my month. This month says - CLEANSE, RE - start, Praise, Affirm, Organize, Daniel Diet. Those are the definitive words for my January. If it doesn't fit in those premises - Im going to do my hardest to bring it back to that - so - there you have it. My January Goals!
After the Calendar and MMA fights, the kids bathed and we had a family talk time about determination. The kids also shared their ideas of what a resolution was at Dinner. It was pretty cute - Colin surprised me - he defined it better than Ana actually. However - his new years resolution was the same as his prayer was last year - (Lord, Make me go REAL FAST) He just wants to be a fast Runner!
After we put the kids to bed, since the day wasn't full enough, we tore into our Kitchen. We started organizing the cabinets, and the lower half is done! I will have to do the food portion tomorrow. I am getting rid of a few things, and buying a few new things - like a toaster. My toaster is 11 years old and nasty - I threw it away! Plastic bread wrappers melted to the side -I have hated that thing for a very long time. I have a mini food processor that I dont need, a spritz cookie maker that I have NEVER used, a beef jerky maker brought into the marriage by guess who - I have moved that thing 5 times and never in 10 years of marriage (almost 11 have we used it). Many things hit the trash, (three full bags full to be exact) other things Im going to try and find new homes for, but until then my kitchen looks torn up again, but open my cabinets and its pretty inside! Yeah for feeling better and organization.
